REFUND POLICY
OUR PERSPECTIVE ON RETURNS
When ordering on Zero Waste Hero, please ensure every purchase is made with careful consideration. We do not generally accommodate refunds or returns unless under rare conditions such as faulty products, as in line with our sustainability policy.
One of the most destructive online retail trends that we are committed to changing is the excessive and careless ordering of products encouraged by free returns. Reverse logistics (or returns) generates 5.8 billion pounds of landfill waste per year in the U.S alone, as 10.6 % of all purchases ($428 billion worth of goods) are returned. In this process, trucks release 16 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions, resulting in a devastating environmental impact. Unfortunately, ecommerce is the worst offenders here, with return rates that are 3x higher than brick and mortar. (source: Optoro 2020 Impact Report)
A big part of becoming a conscious consumer involves doing research before hitting that buy button. Make sure the product you’re about to purchase is something you need and are fully committed to – that’s why we try to vet our lineup down to the best eco friendly brands and provide in depth information on every item we offer.
That said, if a product is faulty or you’re facing truly extraordinary circumstances, send us a message on the Contact Us page and we’ll make sure to get back to you within 1 business day. We appreciate your understanding and hope to work together towards making conscious purchasing the ecommerce norm.
RETURN & CANCELLATION POLICY

Zero Waste Hero Inc. will strive to be just and fair in allowing product order cancellations and returns under limited circumstances.
The terms and conditions in Our Return & Cancellation Policy (“RCP”) are binding as regards to your acceptance of our products and your limited rights to cancellations, refunds, and returns in relation with your product orders. Our RCP should be reviewed thoroughly.

Please note that ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
Please note that, with the exceptions provided below, there will be no cancelations of orders, returns of products, refunds for returns, or credits for purchased products.
NON-CONFORMING PRODUCTS
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us no later than three (3) business days after receipt of the product (Inspection Period) if the item is defective, or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and take corrective measures.
Please note that only products that do not conform to the brand and model listed in your checkout process will be deemed Non-Conforming. Additionally, please note that to be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it in, unworn or unused, with tags, and in the original packaging. You will also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
To start a return or if you have any questions, you can visit our Contact Us page. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
If Zero Waste Hero Inc. is notified during the Inspection period, Zero Waste Hero Inc. will determine, at its sole discretion, whether the products can be shipped back to Zero Waste Hero Inc. at your expense. If Zero Waste Hero Inc. is not notified in writing during the Inspection Period about the Non-Conforming product, you shall be deemed to have accepted the delivery as is.
If the product has been received by Zero Waste Hero Inc. and it has been deemed Non-Conforming by Zero Waste Hero, you will be given the option at the discretion of Zero Waste Hero Inc. to either (i) have you Non-Conforming Products replaced with the conforming ones or (ii) get a full refund of the product price.
Please note that we cannot accept returns or refunds on sale items or gift cards.
DAMAGE AND LOSS IN TRANSIT
Zero Waste Hero Inc. is not responsible for any loss and or damage caused to products in Transit.
Any claims, disputes, controversies and/or action for damage or loss of the products received shall be made by you directly against the shipping and/or delivery carrier.
NON-DELIVERY OR INCOMPLETE SHIPMENT
Please note that in case of a Non-Delivery or Incomplete Shipment, there must be quick action on your behalf in order to qualify to receive a refund or replacement.
The quantity of the products recorded by Zero Waste Hero Inc. on your receipt and packing slip is conclusive evidence of the sale quantity unless contrary evidence is provided by you during the Inspection Period.
Unless Zero Waste Hero Inc. is notified in writing during the timeframes below, Zero Waste Hero Inc. will not be liable for any Non-Delivery or Incomplete Shipments.
- In case of an Incomplete Shipment: Zero Waste Hero Inc. needs to be notified during the Inspection Period (three (3) business days or less after the receipt of the product)
- In Case of a Non-Delivery: Either
- Ten (10) business days after a Product shipment is one (1) week late, based on the most recent shipping date estimate as specified by Zero Waste Hero Inc. for your product order, if any
- Ten (10) business days after the four (4) week anniversary of your full payment for your products.
Please note that for Non-Delivery or Incomplete Shipment of products, at the sole discretion of Zero Waste Hero Inc., the liability of Zero Waste Hero Inc. will be limited to either (a) delivering the undelivered products within a reasonable timeframe or (b) refunding amounts for the undelivered products to reflect the actual quantity delivered, if any.
